HUSE OF DESERT (9 Days)

Full day sight seeing at Agra we start from the northern end of Agra. The first visit is to the tomb of emperor Akbar then Itmad-u-dalluh, Agra fort evening Taj. Overnight hotel.

 
  DAY 1  
 

Drive To Jaipur Enroute we visit the ancient city of Fathepur Sikri built by Emperor Akbar as thanks giving for the saint who blessed him with a son. In the afternoon check in to the hotel rest of the day at leisure to explore the streets and bazars of Jaipur. Overnight at hotel.

 
  DAY 2  
 

We visit the city palace, the palace of winds and then proceed to Amer fort the ancient capital of Jaipur built in the 16th century by Raja Man Singh in red sandstone and marble. It has some very interesting apartments like the Sheesh Mahal the glass canopy apartments and Jai Mandir, Sukh Niwas Baodi etc. The highlight of this trip is the elephant ride up the ramparts of the fort just like the maharajas did. After this we visit the Jaigarh fort the armory of the erstwhile state which houses the biggest cannon on wheels in the world. Evening free to roam the streets & bazaar of Jaipur. Overnight at hotel.

 
  DAY 3  
 

Drive to Jodhpur a 6hrs drive check in afternoon. Rest day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

 
  DAY 4  
 

Morning visit the Mehrangarh fort, Palace & mueseum. Noon drive of into the desert for Jaiselmer a drive of 285 km i.e. 5 ½ hr. Reaching Jaiselmer with the setting sun. Check into hotel & relax.

 
  DAY 5  
 

Morning visit the town fort& havelies of the merchants afternoon drive to the fossil park evening Camel safari to the sand dunes to enjoy a spectacular sight of setting sun. If you want a dance recital by a troupe of Nomads can be arranged with the background of dusk. At night stroll down the streets of Jaiselmer.

 
  DAY 6  
 

Morning again visit the streets of Jaiselmer. After breakfast drive of to Bikaner a drive of 5 hrs another princely state of erstwhile India. Check into the hotel rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

 
  DAY 7  
 

Drive to Mandawa the center of Shekhavati region famous the world over for its frescos on the Havelies ( Mansion) of the merchants. We will check into the castle or an ethnic resort being run by the scion of the royal family of Mandawa. Rest of the day at leisure. Evening you will dine with the Maharaj ( if he is in town) overnight at the castle / desert camp.

 
  DAY 8  
 

Early morning a camel safari through the village & sand dunes rest of the day explore the village of Mandawa. Overnight at castle / desert camp.

 
  DAY 9  
 

Off to Delhi a 5 hr drive. Now you have to decide whether you need to check into a hotel or want to go straight to the international airport to catch your flight back home.
